Hello everyone who might read me in the future and welcome!
I am writing from a train in Scotland, the scenery is beautiful and inspired me to write my first post on my blog. I will call it Day Zero, a day lost in time and space. Day Zero marks the beggining of this virtual experience. For today I won't go into detail into the circus practice or raise any questions, propose answers, share experiences or reflections.
But this will be the point of this space.
Imagine an room with many of us with a tea or a cocktail in our hands, introducing ourselves before the start of an event. This is my introduction room. Get comfortable and join however and whenever you feel like it.
This site is an opportunity for me to start making my research public. I usually do it at my workshops or on Instagram, but I thought this could be a further, perhaps more official step into it. Instead of putting my thoughts onto a file called My Practice on my laptop's desktop, I will do it here and dare to speak out loud. What is the point if I keep it for me?
I don't know if anyone will ever read me. But my proposition is for you to read about my research and the questions I raise and the thoughts I share. And to feel free to send me an email or write in the forum to take part in this process. I can also add your comments as anonymous, if you like.
I am currently writing a book on Rope Manipulation and I NEED your voices telling me your experiences. I cannot do it without this exchange.
CHANGE MY MIND, CHALLENGE ME, SUPPORT ME, SHARE YOURSELF AND HELP ME EXPAND AND EVOLVE ROPE MANIPULATION.
My aim is to transform Rope Manipulation from random rope play to structured creative rope research. And hopefully to use this as fundament to inspire creative research for other circus disciplines.
If anyone is interested in the specific exercises to think together how we can translate them onto other disciplines, please write me. I would love to work together and see what it's possible!!
You can read more about me and about Rope Manipulation on the Home Page.
Hope to meet as many of you as possible.
Love,
G
Hi - I’m very excited, as I’ve been following your work on Instagram and am continuously inspired by your creativity. I’d love to work on translating your concepts to silks, or even hoop! Thank you! Looking forward to reading more.
